MOVE humbly began as small workshops for local high school and middle school girls to share stories and participate in meaningful group activities based on mutual adversities as well as generating solutions.
Over the past four years
MOVE workshops have evolved into a three hour experience
presented by Ashley & Lexie, and frequent guest speaker Maddie Dragsbaek. After presenting over 30 workshops to girls of all ages, MOVE workshops have become an extremely important part of the "MOVE journey". Building a community of girls stretching across Massachusetts, and becoming a launchpad for the MOVE summer program, we would not be who we were today if it weren't for the amazing opportunities and growth we have been able to experience through these workshops full of
storytelling, group activities, self-reflection, humor, honesty, and hope.
Our workshops have always aimed to be a source of support, education, and open dialogue for young girls who have not been offered these resources through traditional methods. T
he most important aspect of these workshops have always been the raw honesty and emotion that comes from speakers who can relate and guide the girls who attend the workshops

What does a typical MOVE workshop cover?
- How to be body positive and self confident
- How to deal with popularity, expectations, gossiping, and general drama
- How to identify common symptoms of common mental illnesses, such as eating disorders, as well as how to help yourself and friends
- How to speak up and use your powerful voice
- How to handle the pressures of intimacy / We cover the lessons the fairytales left out
- How to think critically about the media teens are presented with
Who are workshops for?
Empowerment workshops are designed for girls 7th through 12th grade.
Who can host a MOVE workshop?
Pretty much anyone - MOVE has given workshops at different middle schools, high schools, and summer programs across New England, including schools from Sharon, Littleton, Foxboro, Hopkinton, Natick, and more. That being stated, we are more than open to working with communities, churches, and libraries.
